PROPER WAXING ETIQUETTE
The hair must be at least 1/4 inch in length to be waxed. No shaving 2 – 3 weeks weeks prior (no exceptions).
No sunbathing within a 24 hour period before or after waxing. Avoid heat (sauna, steam, etc.) 24 hours after a wax.
Gently exfoliate before your waxing appointment to ensure a more clean and painless experience. A pain reliever/anti-inflammatory can be taken 30 minutes prior to a waxing appointment to minimize discomfort.
Avoid applying highly fragranced products to the waxed area. This includes, perfume, scented body lotions, anti-perspirants, cosmetics, or feminine hygiene sprays. Only use professional products, recommended by the skin care therapist who performed the wax service. Be sure to pick up your home care products for maintaining a smooth bikini line (we carry PFB Vanish & Bubalina Sugar Scrubs). Returns may only be made on unopened products and must be made within 2 days of purchase. No exceptions.
For optimal results, repeat your professional waxing every 4 to 6 weeks. Let your service professional know if you have been on any skin medications that could affect your waxing service (Retin-A, Renova, Alpha or Beta Hydroxy Acids).
We have a no double dip waxing policy.
PROPER LASER ETIQUETTE
The treatment area needs to be shaved to skin level, within a 24 hour period. The area to be treated must be thoroughly shaved.
You must avoid waxing, tweezing, threading or electrolysis of the hair for 4 weeks prior to treatment. The laser needs the hair at skin level in order to effectively destroy the hair follicle.
Avoid sun exposure for 2 weeks prior to treatment. Tanned skin can not be treated during the length of the treatment plan.
Be sure that the treatment area is fully cleaned of any deodorant, lotions, oils, makeup, and/ or topical medications.
Be certain that you are not on any acne medications or any listed medications at present or within the past 6 months. These medications, and several others, can make your skin susceptible to damage from the laser. If in doubt, please ask us for a list of the aforementioned.
Laser treatments for hair are refused for women who are pregnant.
Avoid bathing or washing with very hot water, use tepid water. Wash gently. Keep the area clean. Additionally, no hot tubs, saunas, or strenuous activities.
Do not shave the treated area for at least 4 days after treatment.
Avoid any irritating medications or chemicals. Examples of these are Retin-A, Benzoyl peroxide, glycolic acid, astringents.
Avoid direct sun exposure for at least 2 weeks after treatment. Protect the area with a sunscreen of higher than 30 SPF or else the skin may develop hyper-pigmentation or hypo-pigmentation marks.
The treated area may become pink, red, inflamed, or even blistered within 30 minutes and in rare instances last several hours to several days. Regular application of ice, cooling gels, Hydrocortisone, or Aloe Vera is important for relief.
Do not wax, tweeze, thread, or use depilatory creams for the hair that grows back. Shaving only between laser treatments.
After laser treatment, hair may continue to grow out . Typically this will occur for about 2-3 weeks and then those treated hair will simply begin to fall out.
Generally it is best to wait 4-6 weeks between treatments. There is no advantage to scheduling your visits closer together even if you do not see immediate results. The laser only targets hair in the growth phase. The next growth phase is generally in 4-6 weeks for most but not all body parts. (ie- Legs 8 weeks).
