As licensed skin care professionals we want to see you get the most from your treatment’s. In order to do so here are some tips to get the most from your experience at Proper Puss.
PRE- WAXING

Keep hair long enough for the wax to grip it. When the hair is too short, the wax can’t pick it up well enough to remove it; when it’s too long, it prevents wax from adhering and causes more pain. A quarter of an inch to a half an inch is ideal for waxing

Moisturize well on the days leading up to your appointment. Healthy, well-moisturized skin allows the wax to release more easily.

Gently exfoliate your skin a day or two before waxing. Exfoliation helps wax grab hair and not skin.

POST-WAXING
Avoid SUNTANNING for 24 hours. This includes any U.V. light exposure or sun bed treatments

Avoid applying frangranced products to the waxed area. This includes perfume, scented body lotions, antiperspirants, cosmetics, or feminine hygiene sprays. Only use professional products, recommended to you by your skin care professional.

Avoid applying HEAT to the waxed area for 12 to 24 hours. This includes hot baths, sauna, and steam

Exfoliation is the key to avoiding ingrown hairs. Our Do me dirty coffee scrub is amazing and specially formulated to help fight those pesky ingrowns naturally.

For BEST RESULTS, repeat your waxing every 4 to 6 weeks depending on the area and your individual hair growth rate.

PRE-LASER

NO waxing, tweezing or electrolysis as the laser needs intact hair follicles to be effective.

NO tanning. Sun, U.V or lotion for 2 weeks prior to treatment. Tanned skin increases skin tone. Darker skin absorbs most of the laser beam’s energy making hair removal difficult if not completely ineffective.

Clients should come to appointments with clean, hair free skin in the area to be treated. A 15% fee will apply if we need to shave you.

POST-LASER

Exfoliate the treated skin at least once a week. Our signature Do me dirty coffee scrub is the best! Allow a minimum of 7 to 14 days post treatment for hair to “fall out” or shed from the skin

No exercising for 24 hours post treatment. Exercising increases your body temperature and sees your body sweat, creating a perfect breeding ground for bacteria which can cause infection or ingrown hairs. It is recommended you wait a minimum of 24 hours after a laser hair removal treatment before you exercise to minimize any risk of upsetting the hair follicles.

You should experience slight redness, bumps, and swelling in the treated area for up to 72 hours. If these conditions persist, topical creams such as aloe, calamine or hydro-cortisone may be applied.

On average clients experience 20-30% less regrowth after each treatment

Make sure to adequately space out laser hair removal sessions. Your skin care professional will discuss with you a treatment plan and it is important that you stick to it. To achieve the best results, complete the full treatment schedule at the intervals recommended by your laser technician
